2:22 - Poster & Trailer

Magnet Releasing will release 2:22 in theaters, on iTunes, OnDemand and Amazon Video June 30th

New York City air traffic controller Dylan Branson (MICHIEL HUISMAN) is the embodiment of a guy at the top of his game, until one day at 2:22pm, a blinding flash of light paralyzes him for a few crucial seconds as two passenger planes barely avoid a midair collision. Suspended from his job, Dylan begins to notice the increasingly ominous repetition of sounds and events in his life that happen at exactly the same time everyday. An underlying pattern builds, mysteriously drawing him into Grand Central Station everyday 2:22pm. As he’s drawn into a complex relationship with a beautiful woman who works in an art gallery, Sarah (TERESA PALMER), disturbingly complicated by her ex-boyfriend Jonas (SAM REID), Dylan must break the power of the past, and take control of time itself.

WATCH THE TRAILER

I have to be honest and when I first watched the trailer I was expecting something that looked a little more low budget. Its stars are not exactly household names, the poster is vague and the title is awful. However, from the trailer, I am definitely encouraged to see this and give it a chance. I kind of love bonkers Sci-Fi like this and I find the romantic subplot very charming.

It's also an Australian co-production so I am hoping some Ozploitation slips in there somehow!

Believe it or not this is not the first movie to be called 2:22 and, as far as I can tell, it is not a remake of 2008's 2:22 which was a Canadian crime film that featured Val Kilmer (apparently).
Other weird stuff to note is that lead actress Teresa Palmer has not only been in another film with a title that's a time: 2:37 (2006) but she has acted in many titles featuring numbers -
I Am Number Four
Parts Per Billion
Kill Me Three Times
Triple 9
