Living to Die
I am not sure I can fully do justice to this film in mere writing. Wings Hauser sores to new heights of delightful madness in this sleaze noir/noir-sploitation PM Entertainment produced, and Wings written and directed, masterpiece.
Everything is liberally glazed in rich, neon hues like Dario Argento exploded, the soundtrack is a cacophony of a variety of increasingly maddening jazzes and Wings is out overacted by Asher Brauner who is credited as: Edward 'Eddie' Minton but I swear throughout the film is referred to as Eddie Mittens - and nobody puts the bite on Eddie Mittens.
While the sex scene in this isn't quite as stomach churning as its milk drenched companion piece in The Art of Dying, it does win the award for most awkward, stilted and creepy sex scene since the infamous Tom Griffith and Don Dohler's Aunt's hairdresser in Nightbeast.
The ending is a thing to behold. I sat slack jawed throughout the whole credits incapable of comprehending. All the bizarre and wonderful things that had gone prior should've really set me up for it but nothing can prepare you when Wings has a phenomenally bleak and mad idea to close out his auteur classic.
I can't recommend you dive into this one first but if you are on a journey of Wings Hauser discovery, film five is the perfect position for this.
Enjoy! it's breathtaking.
